An independent bookstore that's out here fighting the good fight! From its anti-ICE signage to its Drag Queen Story Hours to an environment that welcomes everyone (except, y'know, ICE), Cellar Door is an ally in the fight for our freedoms, including the freedom to read, write, and speak.
It's all settled into its new location on Alessandro in Riverside, and the staff is enthusiastic and friendly, plus, they're always willing to talk books and give recommendations.
It's warm, welcoming, and stands for something. Can't get much better than that.
(Also, their website is ADA compliant. That's a big plus, too.)
Our dollars should reflect our values: local business leaders who care for their workers, treat customers with respect, and bring real wealth to our communities
Move your money to the people who make our state beautiful. Shop these community-loved mom and pops, especially those owned by immigrants, Black, Brown, Indigenous, and working-class people; they’re the real backbone of our state.
